Major Paul Moulds and TAFE Media’s David Wilson, also known as Flash, met in Sydney’s inner city when Moulds was running a youth homelessness refuge.
Major Moulds has started a new project in Mount Druitt in western Sydney, working with young people in a community with a large Indigenous population. He strives to create a place where culture is recognised, and people feel safe to express themselves.
“As service providers it all starts with hearing the voices of your community,” he said.
In the yarn below Major Moulds and Flash discuss the importance of stopping to listen, and how solutions to the problems that arise for young people will be found when Indigenous and non-Indigenous people walk together.
