The newest entry in the Monster Hunter franchise is the fastest-selling in Capcom’s history, surpassing eight million sales in its first three days.

Monster Hunter, an action game series now in its 11th year after starting on the original PlayStation, is about hunting monsters, in case that wasn’t clear.

The title of fastest-selling Capcom game was previously held by Monster Hunter: World which was released in 2018.

Monster Hunter Wilds, now the sixth-fastest-selling game of all time, had a peak of 1.4 million players playing at the same time on the first day of release on one platform.

Capcom has since promoted the game’s senior producer Ryozo Tsujimoto to Chief Product Officer, his new role means being involved with all major Capcom releases.
