Looking for a quiet space to touch down with your laptop, grab a cuppa, and get some work done? If you’re after a secret nook that offers relaxed vibes, Wi-Fi, and a quality brew this list is for you.

No.1: Quay Quarter Tower (Deloitte Building), Circular Quay

Quay Quarter Tower at Circular Quay is a world-first upcycled skyscraper, transforming the old AMP Centre into a 216m vertical village with jaw-dropping Harbour views. For scenery and vibes, it’s hard to beat. Head to The Work Project on the top floor, where you’ll find a common area with Wi-Fi, charging points, and a seriously stunning view. While a day pass is expected, you might be able to get away with a cheeky visit. No promises, though!

No.2: Customs House, Circular Quay

Customs House at Circular Quay blends history with handy work spots. The library has free Wi-Fi, desks, and a quiet vibe for study. Downstairs, the lobby works for quick emails, and you’ll also find a giant glass-floor scale model of Sydney with tiny cars that lights up at night.

No.3: Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), The Rocks

The MCA is a handy remote work spot with free Wi-Fi on all floors and a couple of hidden power plugs if you look closely. Want a bonus distraction? There’s art everywhere. Tip: Head straight to the rooftop café for epic Opera House and Harbour views. Just a heads-up, it gets loud during busy periods.

No.4: Salesforce Tower, Circular Quay

Salesforce Tower, standing 263m tall with 55 storeys, is Sydney’s tallest office tower and the second-tallest skyscraper after Crown Sydney. On the right side of the lobby (enter from George Street), next to the café, you’ll find a bright, naturally lit spot with six seats, free Wi-Fi, charging points, and an easy coffee fix.

Grosvenor Place is a sleek remote work spot with free Wi-Fi throughout and stunning new upper and lower lobbies filled with natural light. There’s a café on each level. The modern business lounge is ideal for casual catch-ups or quiet focus. Fun fact: Its 2000sqm column-free floor plates are the largest in Sydney.

No.6: 580 George Street, Town Hall

Looking for a convenient midtown spot to work or study? Head to 580 George Street, conveniently linked directly to Town Hall Station underneath so you can skip the rain. It’s got around 50 seats, dim lighting, and free Wi-Fi (spotty at times) but no charging points so come with a full battery. With a few cafés just outside and a supermarket on-site, it’s got more of a “working in a food court” vibe, but it does the job in a pinch.

No.7: 477 Pitt Street, Central

Once home to Sydney’s first fire station and the 1922 AGL showroom, 477 Pitt Street is now part of the $135m Tech Central redevelopment. Inside the lobby area, you’ve got free Wi-Fi, power for your devices, Art Deco vibes, a 19-metre communal table, and a digital art wall worth getting lost in. There’s also an onsite café for your coffee fix.
