The good and bad of throwing stones

I was alerted to the sound of pebbles landing on a metal roof. There’s someone else that likes to throw things on the roof of the giant supermarket opposite my flat.

Throwing food scraps for the birds is a pastime I rather enjoy. So when I heard a splattering of noise on the roof and it wasn’t me, I was shocked to see the old weirdo male neighbour a couple of doors down aiming for the birds that I love to nourish.

I said rather loudly: “What a f…ing freak to be doing that.” He seemed to step back into the shadows of his balcony.

To make it more astonishing was he was throwing it at a magpie who wasn’t even making a sound. If he was aiming at the infestation of Indian myna birds we have here then I would be all for his attack but not the natives. Come on.

This kind of behaviour is so bewildering to me. Get a life loser, old, nasty neighbour and pick on someone your own size.

Some retribution might be in order. Watch this space.
