Thousands of people have gathered around Sydney Harbour to enjoy Vivid Sydney, Australia’s largest festival of light, music, and ideas.

Visitors attending the event shared a variety of opinions about this year’s festival. While some praised the creative displays and atmosphere, others said the light installations were not the main attraction for them.

Emma, who attended a concert at the Sydney Opera House, said she was more interested in the international artists performing than the light displays themselves.

Many attendees, however, expressed strong support for the event.

Harrison described Vivid Sydney as a great opportunity to experience creativity and innovation. He said the illuminated Sydney Harbour Bridge was his favourite feature and encouraged others to visit the festival.

Billy Hookwright also praised the event, describing the evening as “majestic” and highlighting the colourful Harbour Bridge display as one of the night’s standout attractions.

Tourist Paula Richmond noted that attendance appeared higher than last year and said the festival offered a wide range of activities including interactive experiences, public artworks, food stalls, and entertainment.

Another tourist, Emma B, said the lights were enjoyable but not something she would specifically travel to see.

Despite differing opinions, most visitors agreed that Vivid Sydney continues to transform the city into a unique and vibrant destination, attracting large crowds and creating memorable experiences for residents and tourists alike.
