If you are sick of picking the petals off daisies to determine whether they love you, or love you not, here are seven sure signs that it’s time to move on.
1: They just talk about themselves
It is true that the one thing everyone loves to talk about most is themselves. This is until they find something or someone they care about more. If they don’t ask about you and simply revel in the sound of their own voice, chances are they are not interested.
2: They cancel last minute
Cancelling a date in any circumstance can be seen as a red flag, but a last-minute cancellation is usually a result of three possible situations: (1) they got a better offer; (2) they are just not that invested; (3) they forgot. The common theme here is that you are being taken for granted and it’s time to move on.
3: They consistently avoid eye contact
One of the most obvious signs of lying is avoiding eye contact. I am not saying your person of interest is a liar, but to evade your eyes, they are avoiding connecting or engaging with you authentically in any way.
4: They are always on their phone
If they are with you but glued to their screen, it’s obvious they don’t find you interesting or stimulating enough to give you the attention you deserve. If you are having to compete with a phone, it’s not worth it.
5: They can’t remember your name
Nicknames and pet names seem cute on the surface, but they are potentially just covering for the fact that your person of interest can’t even remember your name. If you are that forgettable to them, is it really worth pursuing?
6: They arrange a date to McDonald’s
This is simply a dating nightmare. And don’t try to make excuses about expenses and affordability, there are plenty of better date locations that would be free. If they wanted to impress you, they would. If they wanted a 10-piece McNugget meal deal, they would go to McDonald’s.
7: You just know
At the end of the day, it’s all about trusting your gut instinct. If you came here looking for advice, perhaps your instinct already had a clue at what the answer would be. And if they don’t like you back, it’s not the end of the world. In fact, now that you know it’s time to move on, it’s only the beginning.
