By Jacob Schenko

This is a list of 5 of the most fear-inducing horror movies that I have watched.

These horror movies are labelled from least to most, however they are all terrifying.

No.5: The Hills Have Eyes

Directed by Wes Craven, the 1977 horror classic depicts a vacation gone wrong. The film follows the Carter family during a road trip through the Nevada desert. After taking a short cut, their car breaks down in a remote area which was once a testing ground for nuclear weapons. Vulnerable and stranded, the family discovers they are being stalked and hunted by a family of cannibals mutated by the radiation who live in the surrounding hills.

No.4: Tusk

Directed by Kevin Smith, Tusk is a dark horror-comedy which follows a podcaster who commutes to rural Canada to interview an unusual old man with strange stories. The two sit down and begin the recording as the elderly man tells his stories of his time at sea. However, the meeting becomes deadly as the protagonist is drugged by the guest.

No.3: V/H/S

The 2012 horror movie V/H/S is a series of found-footage videos; all the videos depict alternate stories, each more terrifying than the last.

No.2: The Strangers

The 2008 horror-mystery is a home invasion film directed by Bryan Bertino depicting a couple staying at a remote vacation home after returning from a wedding. While the night is young their quiet evening is interrupted after a mysterious young woman knocks on their door.
