Fans from all genres of gaming will come together next weekend to celebrate Australia’s largest gaming expo, PAX Australia.

The Penny Arcade Expo, or PAX for short, returns for its 11th year to Melbourne’s Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 11 to 13.

PAX AUS showcases the newest games from the biggest publishers such as Bethesda, Ubisoft and SEGA while also highlighting smaller indie game studios.

Gaming service Steam will be making its first official appearance at PAX AUS with expo officials keeping some surprises under wraps, hinting towards something extra special for attendees.

“While on the topic of love, PAX Aus welcomes Steam for the first time ever,” teased the website. “More on that when the show opens, you’re not going to want to miss it!”

Some of the larger titles featured this year are SEGA’s Sonic X Shadow Generations and ATLUS’s Metaphor: ReFantazio. Attendees will be able to try demos of these games before their official release.

PAX AUS also plays host to many panels which will give attendees deeper insight into the gaming industry.

These panels include topics such as “Mental Health for content creators”, “Beginning your journey with painting miniatures” and “Bringing your Civilization to life” by the developers of the newly announced Civilization VII.

Alongside these official events, there are guest hosted events which range from content creator meet-ups to cosplay photoshoots.
