Planes. Thoughts. Blank.
When a plane flies over, where do your thoughts land? Let’s try and look at it from a new perspective. From the perspective as someone curious and interested.
What if inside that loud, rumbling tin can there is a grieving mother and wife travelling to her husband’s funeral? And she’s tired and she’s broken and she just wants to escape the sounds of the thrumming engine and the excited university students travelling to their friend’s beach house for the summer.
Statistically there are between 12,000 and 20,000 planes in the air worldwide, a number that can rise above 24,000 during peak traffic. On one of those planes, across an aisle, sits a lonely surgeon coming home from a transfer shift in Chicago. She’s listening to a podcast that distracts her from the 22-hour heart surgery that drained all her energy, and she’s got rawness in her throat from crying out of exhaustion.
These stories, while fictitious, are an inspired compilation of the real-life events that take place in our world. Hard-working surgeons, active and excited teenagers, and a simple man travelling. Parts of our lives, and other peoples’ lives that shape the foundations of our society.
These are the stories that bind our world. Bind our memories. Our dreams and our thoughts.
So… where are your thoughts today?
